As the daughter of two “serial entrepreneurs”, I grew up in and around small businesses and the people who make them tick. There is nothing I love more than seeing business owners achieve their goals, and my experience in the field of digital marketing and social media community management has prepared me to help them do just that. The years I spent managing the online marketing efforts of my family’s businesses have taught me that an engaging and optimized online presence is absolutely vital to the success of any business.
My adventures in the world of social media took off during my time as the community manager for Amelie’s French Bakery in Charlotte, NC. It was here that I experienced how big of an impact social media can have on a business, especially an up and coming one. Unlike many businesses who invest thousands of dollars in traditional marketing, we relied exclusively on social media and strategic word of mouth marketing. During my time with Amelie’s, we grew from a single, five employee location to five locations across the Carolinas and Georgia, employing over 150 staff members. We became known as one of the most social savvy companies in the area, and we were even dubbed one of the most talked about bakeries in the world. Because of our success on social, I have been invited to participate as a panelist at events such as the SMB Social Media Makeover, and my work has been recognized by Google as part of their award to the city of Charlotte for online ingenuity in small business. The campaigns I directed have also been featured in numerous news publications, and most recently, the Instagram campaign I planned and implemented for Amelie’s, which is still used by the company to this day, received recognition as one of the top 20 most Instagrammed in the country.
In 2012, I moved to Arizona with my husband after he was accepted into the Internal Medicine residency program at Maricopa Medical Center. Upon completion, our move turned more permanent as he was offered a fellowship position in Infectious Diseases at the Mayo Clinic. We live in north Phoenix with our daughter Lucia, our two cats Moonchie & Panterita. We are horse parents to All Ears, a 17.3h Oldenburg Mare who is currently living the life of a broodmare in Texas, and her yearling colt Eli SLS by Escudo II.
These days, when I’m not training with Ryan Miller at RME Show Stables, blogging for Big Bay Social, or chasing Lulu around, I can be found working and blogging for local digital marketing firm BizIQ.
